Tesseract.js provides good accuracy for clear, well-lit images with standard fonts. Scanned documents at 200-300 DPI work very well. Blurry or low-contrast images may produce errors. For best results, use images with high contrast between text and background.

No. Everything runs in your browser using Tesseract.js (WebAssembly). Your images never leave your device, and the extracted text stays with you. The OCR engine downloads once and works fully offline after that.

PDF support is coming soon. In the meantime, you can take a screenshot of your PDF page and upload it as an image, or use our PDF to Word tool to extract text directly from PDF documents.

Tesseract is optimized for printed text. It may partially recognize clear, neat handwriting but results vary significantly. For handwritten documents, dedicated handwriting OCR services generally perform better.
